Position: Associate Principal - Hospitality
Paul Boldy is an Associate Principal, Hospitality at OBMI, where he leads the firm's Hospitality Advisory practice, helping owners, investors, developers and operators make better decisions that create more valuable hospitality assets.
With more than thirty-five years of international experience across hotel ownership, operations, consultancy and design, Paul brings a rare combination of commercial, operational and design expertise. His career spans capital projects, development management, hospitality strategy, asset optimisation, hotel design and Capex planning, giving him a holistic understanding of how early decisions influence long-term commercial, operational and guest experience outcomes.
Having held senior leadership roles within global design consultancies and leading hospitality organisations, Paul has worked across luxury hotels, resorts, branded residences and mixed-use destinations throughout the Middle East, Africa and beyond. His experience enables him to bridge the traditional divide between investment, operations and design, ensuring that strategic intent is translated into measurable business performance.
At OBMI, Paul is leading the evolution of the firm's Hospitality Advisory platform, integrating market intelligence, development strategy, financial analysis, operational insight and design performance into a connected advisory methodology. His work helps clients evaluate opportunities, optimise developments, reposition existing assets and improve investment outcomes through evidence-based decision making.
A recognised thought leader, speaker and author, Paul is a strong advocate for a more measurable approach to hospitality development. His research and proprietary methodologies challenge the industry to look beyond the building itself, demonstrating that exceptional hospitality is created not simply through design, but through the quality of the decisions that shape every stage of the development journey.
Paul is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, and a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants.
Throughout my career I have been driven by one belief: better decisions create better hospitality. My mission is to bridge the worlds of investment, operations and design through strategic thinking, collaboration and innovation, helping clients and the wider industry realise the full potential of hospitality as both a business and a human experience.
