Becoming a Member

Members are considered best in class and are viewed as leaders in their respective areas of expertise.

Candidate Criteria

The Society is composed of individuals, not organizations, corporations, or groups, and is selective in nature. Membership is available at two levels, Full and Associate. To be eligible for Full membership, one must meet the below criteria.

One’s primary professional activity is as a practicing hospitality industry consultant selling a service or intellectual property, as opposed to a physical or tangible product.

Be a practicing hospitality consultant with 5 consecutive years of consulting experience immediately preceding invitation or 3 consecutive years of experience and 10 total years experience.

Be sponsored by an existing member who will assume the lead role in overseeing the candidacy process on behalf of the candidate.

Be an owner, officer, partner, or principal of his or her own company or the equivalent thereof.

*Please note owners/employees of management companies are not eligible for membership.

Associate Membership

Candidates for Associate Membership must meet all of the qualifications for Full Membership with the exception of:

1) Number of years experience consulting; and/or
2) Being an owner, officer, partner or principal of his or her company.

Candidates for Associate Membership must be on the path to qualify for Full Membership within 5 years.

If you have not already been introduced to ISHC by a current member, review the ISHC online membership directory to identify a member Sponsor that is personally familiar with your work experience as a consultant.
Schedule a call with Jennifer Castellarin, Director of Membership & Marketing to discuss the membership process.
The Membership Review Committee will review your application and Sponsor Form.
Attend an ISHC conference if invited. Please note that invitation to the annual conference and attendance does not guarantee membership to ISHC. The conference is held annually, typically in September or October.
Submit payment for candidacy fee (one-time $295) upon invoicing. Submit payment for annual dues upon invoicing. Annual dues are $1,150/year for Full Membership and $750/year for Associate Membership.
