Bio
With international design and delivery experience, Carl Kernodle provides architect-led hospitality development services including facility planning, design, identity, project management, and technical assistance for award-winning projects. These services range from single independent hotels to complex, mixed-use properties with recreation, entertainment, residential, gaming, and retail projects. Working in support of project’s stakeholders, Carl blends his training, creative design talent, and problem-solving leadership to shepherd the complete and full development process.
In early 2019, Carl pursued his own hospitality development interests with the establishment of Two Trout, LLC. His consulting company builds upon professional relationships and past experiences from working at Cabo Del Sol (CDS) development company in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Hyatt Corporation, Kernodle Professional Group, FaulknerUSA, and Hnedak Bobo Group. In all these positions, he held senior leadership roles directing projects for both public and private owners in the hotel, convention, gaming, resort, multi & single family residential, and entertainment industries.
Carl holds architectural licenses in multiple US states, is a member of the Dean’s Circle at University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture since 2008. Additionally, he serves on several boards including an Advisory Board Member for Parafin, a cloud-based SAAS platform for hotel real estate developers; Board Member (current Vice-Chair) for the nonprofit Mount Sequoyah Center; and Board Member and Mentor for The Mayfly Project Fayetteville.
Carl earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arkansas where he was recognized as the valedictorian of the School of Architecture and awarded the American Institute of Architecture Henry Adams School Medal and the University Senior Scholar Award.
