Bio
Tony has over 35 years of experience providing commercial and legal advice to hotel and real estate owners, operators, developers, and financiers across the globe.
Tony was previously the Principal of Ryan Lawyers (with offices in Sydney and Singapore), providing commercial and legal advice to the real estate, hotel & tourism industries across the Asia Pacific region. Tony resided in and operated from Singapore from 2012 to 2018.
In 2015, Tony was appointed global head of M&A in JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group (based in Singapore and London) and established a unique business sourcing and advising on hotel management platforms and portfolio transactions, including Accor’s US$940 million takeover of Mantra Group. Before the role with JLL, Tony was a leading industry commercial and legal advisor.
Tony reactivated Ryan Capital Partners in 2021, an independent advisory company offering M&A, restructuring, and capital-raising services for hotels, mixed-use, and other operational real estate.
In 2023, Tony established, with industry colleagues, Trilogy Hotels, a truly independent third-party hotel management company of which he is the Executive Chair.

Hotel brands may, under a franchise agreement, provide strong globally established branding, marketing, distribution, and loyalty programs. Trilogy manages the hotel operations and drives the operational and profit performance on behalf of an owner. The company also provides access to operational systems, training, and team development.
Professional Memberships
Since 2000, Tony has been a fiduciary and/or advisory board member of TTF Australia which is the peak industry group for Australia's tourism, transport and aviation sectors.
Tony was Chairman of Centennial and Moore Park Trust which was the governing body of Centennial Parklands Sydney with over 360 hectares near the centre of Sydney and a National Heritage Listing. The award-winning Parklands are recognised as one the leading public parklands in the world with over 31 million visitors per year and 120 playing fields and venues.
Tony is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Education
Tony is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration. He holds a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney.
