Bio

Alex is an accomplished and integrity-driven professional architect with a passion for great hotel design. That passion has been deployed over 30 years of experience both nationally and internationally. He has extensive hospitality experience with luxury, full-service and select-service projects. And he has direct experience working with the Brands. Development of prototypes is not a skill that many architects learn. Alex has developed two for national brands including the original Aloft and Sheraton. Domestic work is not all Alex brings to the table. He also has experience internationally include time in the Middle East. He was Director of Design for a Saudi real estate group. The Saudi firm focused on developing large luxury hotels in Makkah, KSA and spent extensive time in Dubai.

Alex brings inventive designs, strength in project team leadership, meticulous coordination of project details, highly proficient technical competency and operational efficiency.

Alex is a Principal at Rabun Architects. Rabun is an architecture firm with over 50 years of hotel design experience. Hotels are our focus and our passion! Our sweet spot is full-service hotel designs where we balance beautiful architecture with planning that operators and developers love. Everything is where is should be as well as beautiful and guest facing. We offer tight and efficient designs that don't build more than needed. A few highlights of Alex's experience:
