Fifteen hospitality consultants (of the original 19 charter members) come together at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville to discuss the formation of a society that would become known as the International Society of Hospitality Consultants.

First Official Membership Meeting – Membership Criteria, Code of Professional Conduct, and By Laws are approved by the Membership – Hyatt Hotel Newport Beach, CA

Chuck Pinkowski is named Executive Director and ISHC’s first President

The first Strategic Plan was created with Ed Beauchamp, Strategic Planner, and later approved by the membership at the Marriott Baypoint Resort in Panama City Beach, FL.

Chuck Pinkowski is named the first Chairman of the Board at the Annual Conference, Panama City Beach, FL.

Gloria McCollum joins ISHC as the first administrative staff.

Laurence Geller is initiated as Member #100

Peggy Berg becomes the first female Chairman.

The first CapEx Study was published as ground-breaking, industry-changing research. It was presented at the UCLA Hotel Investment Conference (now ALIS).

Membership began using an email roster for member communications.

The Pioneer Award was created to recognize one individual each year for making an outstanding contribution, achievement, and or improvement in the hospitality industry.

The First Pioneer Award was presented to Randy Smith of STR at the UCLA Hotel Investment Conference (now ALIS).

ISHC celebrates its 10^th Anniversary at Opryland Hotel, Nashville, TN.

Bob Patterson creates the press worthy “Top Ten Trends Impacting the Hospitality Industry.”

The “Friends of the Society” Sponsorship Program was created at the Hotel Vancouver in Vancouver, BC Canada

2^nd CapEx Study published and presented at the UCLA Hotel Investment Conference (now ALIS).

An intensive Strategic Planning session was facilitated by Judy King. Over 30 members participated at the Marina del Rey Hotel in California.

David Brudney is the first recipient of the award at The Charles Hotel in Cambridge, MA.

Lori Raleigh named Executive Director.

Bernard Delomenie becomes the first Chairman of the Board based outside of the United States.

ISHC members are invited to contribute regularly to Hotel News Now and contribute 24+ articles annually.

Rafael Bolivar was presented with the 1^st award at the Caribbean Hotel Investment Summit (CHRIS) in Miami, FL.

Christopher Hur was the recipient of the 1^st RSA-AP award, presented at the Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP) in Singapore

Current ISHC member and Co-Chair of the Awards Committee, Jonathan Jaegar, was the 1^st recipient of the award, presented at the ISHC Annual Conference in Berlin, Germany.

Ian Schrager was the 20^th anniversary honoree which was presented at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) in Los Angeles, CA.

ISHC celebrated its 30^th Anniversary at the One Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach, FL

Andrea Belfanti, a 12-year veteran of ISHC and former Executive Director, is promoted to ISHC’s first Chief Executive Officer

The first two recipients of the inaugural Celebrating Diversity Scholarship, sponsored by the authors of the Hotel Investments – Issues & Perspectives, NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, ISHC, and AHLA were Chandler Williamson of North Carolina Central University and Morgan Best of Virginia State University.
